eCYCLING

  • Yes!

  • eCycling classes necessitate a bit of planning! Although our classes are not always intense, riding steady for 90 minutes indoors can take a toll on your sweat output and carbohydrate expenditure. For these reasons, we recommend to always have at least 1 bottle of water, and/or electrolyte, and something to nibble on half way through the class (pending when you last ate, exercised, and the intensity of the class). Also, being a 90-minute session, wear comfortable, breathable kit. Since you have your own bike, it makes sense that you have your shoes too! We do carry fueling supplies in our retail area if you are in need of any items, and of course cold water is also available.

  • eCycling classes are 90-minutes that include an appropriate warm-up, skills segments, and then targeted training work according to an annual training plan, with a cool down period. Intensities can vary based on an individual’s needs per lab visits. Even though they are scripted for 90-minutes, you can ride as long as you like!

  • eCycling follows an annual training schedule where the intensity of classes changes according to the training phase. Each training phase can last anywhere from 3 weeks to 12 weeks, where the “easier” classes are typically from November to February, and slowly increase in intensity from there through the rest of the year. We also take recovery, or “restorative” weeks to allow for training adaptations. Training phases are explained during each class and communicated via our newsletter as well. Having said all of that, typically after your first lab visit (or follow-ups), your focus for classes will be explained based on your metabolic testing results. Oftentimes an individual will be on a custom plan that fits in with the classes in a unique way.

  • We use Wahoo, Kickr Snap trainers. For information on this device and compatibility please visit the product website to read more. In short, a traditional skewer head is required, so if you have a disc brake set-up, you will need a specific thru axle adapter. A great resource for these adapters is here.

PERFORMANCE COACHING

  • Experienced individuals may have the motivation, self-awareness, and clarity when it comes to what they need to succeed in goal setting, event preparation, daily training, and nutrition, etc. However, if you are embarking on a new level of exercise duration and/or intensity, new to a sport, or have a particular objective that is novel to you, working with a coach can be extremely helpful, especially when this is coupled with collecting information on your metabolic profile - or level of conditioning - through exercise testing so that you have a bespoke plan put into place. Furthermore, you may be motivated by the benchmarking, advice, and accountability aspects that come with having a coach supporting you through any endeavor.

  • We work with all levels of athletes! It’s a common misconception that a science-based approach to training is limited to those who are at the pinnacle of sport. However, we feel that everyone can benefit from this approach, almost more so for those who are just learning the basics or intimidated to even start an exercise program. The great thing about our program is that you get a customized strategy, regardless of your level of fitness and/or experience.

  • Yes, our start-up fees vary depending on the program and cover the initial visit required to start a program. For a list of fees and services please visit the associated membership for Performance Coaching.

  • We use Training Peaks software as our coaching platform to deliver daily workouts, or monthly templates, communications and monitoring. If you already have a Training Peaks account, you would follow a few easy steps to add one of our staff as your coach. If you do not currently have a Training Peaks account, we will set one up for you.

  • We offer a variety of exercise testing options and we understand that this can be a bit overwhelming, so we’re here to help! To request an appointment, please send an email to [email protected]. We will get back to you for a chat to help assess the most ideal protocol based on your objectives, fitness, and mode of exercise that interests you most.

  • For all exercise testing, the data collection, results overview, and recommendation-based discussion are all done in the same visit. Therefore, results are in-hand right away, as well as actionable advice when you depart. In the instance of remote testing (INSCYD PPD) or group testing, the results may be sent to you within 24 hrs post-test and with a follow-up virtual consultation for recommendations pending the client’s schedule/availability.

  • No, you do not have to be an Endurance member to book/partake in lab visits, or even remote exercise testing. See the drop-in rates and availability in the eLab section of our website.

  • Although a visit to the lab is most ideal, cyclists and runners are able to test remotely. Endurance is partnered with INSCYD so we can employ their metabolic modeling software to analyze specific efforts such as power files for cycling or GPS data files for running to obtain key metabolic metrics that allow us to test athletes remotely. Read more about the INSCYD PPD here.

  • Once an appointment is booked, clients receive a confirmation email with information specific to the preparation required for that appointment type. If you don’t see an email from EndurancePTC in your inbox after booking an appointment with us, please contact [email protected] to let us know. For example, some tests require a 2-hour fasting period, a period of recovery from exercise/training, and/or a 1-hour fluid fast.

Additionally, if you are prompted to pay even though you have an active membership, it’s possible that your membership did not process due to an expired or declined credit card at the beginning of the month.
